The African American Museum
Dallas, TX

While the African American Museum's Fair Park facilities were opened in 1993, the museums history stretches back much farther to it's founding in 1974.  The African American Museum is the only museum in the Southwestern United States devoted to the preservation and display of African American artistic, cultural and historical materials.  It's impressive collections serve to educate and inform today's generation about often overlooked aspects of American history.
