Cedar Hill, TX
Cedar Hill State
Park in Cedar Hill, TX is primarily a recreation destination for most park
visitors. With the proximity to Joe Pool Lake, fishing is park
staple and with over 350 developed campsites the park welcomes many
campers throughout the year. However it also offers a unique and
historic look at the past due to the remnants of the 19th century Penn
farm.
The Penn Farm
was the home of John Anderson Penn who settled in the North Texas area in
1854. The farm stands today for visitor to tour seven days a
week. The reconstructed and historic buildings, as well as antique
farm equipment, serve as a doorway to the past for park visitors and
for the animals that live on the farm.
