The Dallas Nature Center is a great way to both get back to nature and learn a little something while you're at it.  The center offers numerous educational programs and is great for groups.  The non-profit organization is on 633 acres and has a number of plants and animals to enjoy, including some endangered species. 
The Center has lot's of different nature hiking trails with something for everyone.  They range from Easy to Difficult.  The educations programs range from such subjects as insect identification to studies of flora and fauna.  A great place to spend some time outdoors.

Hiking: Little Bluestem Trail:  .25 mile round trip, Very Easy
Butterfly Trail:  .25 mile round trip,  Easy
Possum Haw Trail: .75 mile round trip,  Easy
Cattail Pond Trail:  1.5 miles round trip, Moderate
Cedar Brake Trail:  2.5 miles round trip,  Moderate to Difficult
Fossil Valley Trail: 2.5 miles round trip,  Moderate to Difficult
Escarpment Road Trail:  2.25 miles round trip, Easy to Moderate
Mulberry Trail:  0.5 mile one way,  Moderate
Bluebonnet Trail: 1 mile round trip,  Moderate
