Grapevine Lake
Grapevine, TX

Grapevine Lake is an Army Corp of Engineers project and it exists to serve as a flood control project and water storage space for cities in the metroplex.  However, Grapevine Lake is also a popular spot for recreation.  Sailing and water sports are popular as well as fishing and even hunting.  White bass, black bass, crappie and catfish can be found in the lake and there are plenty of boat ramps.  Living up to it's reputation as an "all-purpose" lake, there is also camping and hiking.
The lake also welcomes Off Road Vehicles and RV's.  Grapevine Lake is in the central part of the DFW metroplex and very close to DFW airport.  It's worth a trip just to enjoy the all the different recreational alternatives.
